3 Ways to Earn More Money From Your Wellness Website

{Guest post from Julie Ralston of JulesDesign.co}

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you didn’t become a health and wellness pro to earn lots of money. You care more about serving your clients and improving their life. And that’s wonderful!

But the reality is that earning money is a key aspect in running a successful business. You can’t care for your clients fully and run a sustainable business if you aren’t earning the income you truly desire.

Luckily, you don’t have to be a design wizard to convert visitors into buyers on your website. You just have to know a few basics.

1. Book Clients Directly on Your Website

The first way to earn more money from your website is to make booking your services as easy as possible for your potential clients. Bonus points if you accept payments from them right after they inquire with you.

If your clients need to schedule specific times for your services, like coaching calls or fitness classes, then try integrating a tool like Acuity Scheduling on your website. It’s an excellent way to make things easier for you and your potential clients.

With Acuity, you can set your own availability. Clients will be able to select a time that works for them, book appointments, and make a payment safely and securely all without leaving your website.

You can either install the WordPress plugin for Acuity or insert a short embed code that they’ll provide for you. Either way, it’s so easy to integrate this tool with your website!

If you’d like to screen your potential clients before deciding if you’d be a good fit to work together, then try my favorite Client Management tool: Dubsado.

Start by creating an application or inquiry form for potential clients to fill out. Link that up with your website so that all of your clients’ info and answers will be added directly into Dubsado. This makes it super easy for you to send them more information and eventually onboard them as clients.

The goal is to make things not only easier for you to manage, but really simple for your client to get on-board.

2. Grow Your Email List with an Opt-in Incentive

You might be wondering, how does an email list allow me to earn more money?

Well, let me give you an example:

Let’s say that you DON’T have an email list.

A new website visitor comes to your site for the first time and they click around to your about page, services, and blog. They like what they see and connect with you. But, they ultimately realize that they aren’t quite ready to buy so they exit your site and forget all about you.

Now imagine that you DO have an email list.

The same website visitor comes to your website, loves what they see, but isn’t ready to buy. They notice you have a free busy mom’s workout guide or a 7-day healthy eating meal plan and now they’re super pumped to get their hands on that freebie!

They enter their email, grab that guide or plan — and they love it! They’re happy to be part of your tribe and are excited about your weekly emails and, of course, the added value you give them.

After a couple of months, this person decides that they’re ready to work with you!

See the huge difference here?

Your email list is the best way to keep in touch with your audience on a regular basis.

After all, you can’t guarantee that people will even see your latest Instagram post, Youtube video, or Facebook live. So showing up in their inbox is an excellent way to stay top of mind and let them know what you’re up to.

And the best way to grow your email list FAST is with an opt-in incentive or freebie.

This should be something that your target audience will love. Think of something that helps to solve a pain point that your ideal client has. So do some market research and create something that will be irresistible to your audience.

To get the ideas flowing, here are some examples of freebies for health + wellness pros:

  • A Self-Care Checklist for Busy Entrepreneurs
  • Your Favorite Smoothie Recipes
  • Food Allergy Discovery Worksheet
  • A Course on Loving Yourself: filled with affirmations, journaling exercises, and self-love advice
  • Healthy Shopping Guide

Speaking of irresistible freebies to offer your clients…want one?

Once you’ve created your opt-in incentive you’ll just need to connect your freebie to your website and email service provider.

Many email providers will give you the code to embed forms directly on your website or create landing pages that you can link to. You can also use WordPress plugins, like Bloom or AccessAlly, to easily add opt-in forms to your blog posts, website pages, and as pop-ups on your site.

3. Show Your Value with Sales Pages

Did you know that sales pages aren’t just for products and passive income streams?

They’re perfect for showing the value of your services too. A well-crafted sales page will convert more potential clients to interested buyers, which, leads to a higher income overall.

A common mistake that I see on so many health and wellness websites is that they emphasize every little detail that goes into their service package. They’re focusing on the elements within their service instead of the value that the client receives from working with them.

People don’t really care that they are getting 3 zoom calls, a 10-page workbook, and a 1-month coaching commitment from you. They simply want to know what value they will get out of that commitment — it has to improve their life in some way.

When you’re working on your sales page make sure you lead with value first. This is your chance to go into detail and tell a story about how your services can help solve your audiences main problem.

Then you can follow-up further down the page with all those little service details to close the sale. This is helpful to have but shouldn’t be the focus.

Speaking of closing the sale…

This is where you’re going to want to bring in a call-to-action statement with a button to book you. This button should be in a unique color so that it really stands out on the page. Then link it up with your scheduling form or your client application form.

Now you know my top 3 secrets to earn more money from your wellness website. These tips will help your ideal client see the value in your offering so that they are primed and ready to buy.

The ability to earn more money from your wellness website all comes down to how easy you've made it for your website visitors to book in with you. If it’s too complicated for you or the client, then it won't convert. Click To Tweet
